Guided All-Inclusive Tour Packages Unguided Do-It-Yourself Bear Glacier is the largest glacier located in Kenai Fjords National Park and flows into a large lake separated from the Pacific Ocean by a narrow glacier moraine. Bear Glacier is 15 roadless miles south of Seward on the west side of Resurrection Bay.

Wildlife in the area includes black bears, mountain goats, coyotes, wolverines and harbor seals that come into the lake for protection from the Orca whales that cruise just outside along the beach. For birders, this area is the nesting area for a large variety of birds.

Harbor Seal on ice flowBesides sea kayaking there are a number of hiking destination available. There are glacier moraines to explore or you can hike up to one of the numerous waterfalls in the area. If you're real adventurous there is a valley and mountain ridges that have yet to be explored.
