Custom group Alaska rafting adventures are available on request. If have interested in something special or participating in an exploratory expedition, please contact us with your ideals or to see what plans are being made.
Kongakut River - 10 day Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Rafting Safari. Explore Alaska's remote Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) by raft on the "river of caribou". Our trip coincides with the annual migration of the 130,000-strong Porcupine caribou herd and passes through some of the world's most pristine wilderness.
Lake Creek - 7 day Whitewater Rafting and Fishing Adventure. Our favorite fly-in wilderness adventure river, great combination exciting whitewater and great Alaska fishing. Lake Creek offers almost continuous Class II/III whitewater with a few Class IV rapids, five species of salmon, rainbow trout and arctic grayling.
Chulitna River - 4 day Denali Raft Adventure. An excellent family adventure and sampling of Alaska's best wilderness and geography at a casual pace. We travel through Denali State Park, upper Susitna Valley and take out near Trapper Creek, a historic gold mining town. |

Lake Clark National Park
1-Day Fly-In Bear Viewing Departing From Anchorage
2 and 3-Day Bear Viewing • 7-Day Bear Viewing • 7-Day Bear Viewing and Giant Icebergs
Of all Alaska's wonders, perhaps none will stamp your memory more deeply than viewing and photographing these magnificent animals. Great Alaska's private remote fly-in bear viewing camp was named the "Best bush camp in North America" by Outside Magazine. The camp, situated on the edge of Lake Clark National Park at the foot of Mount Iliamna, will quite simply take your breath away.
In the early spring, female brown bears (Ursos Arctos) leave their dens with young in tow, to feed on the succulent grasses and salmon found around our camp. This allows us the opportunity to view and photograph these magnificent animals. Our attentive guides will take you to several bear viewing points and share with you the knowledge that can only be gleaned from actually living with brown bears.
"Alaska Bear Camp" was the base camp for Disney's new nature movie "Bears". Unlike many bear viewing venues, 50 resident bears are present all summer at our fly in wilderness lodge.
This spectacular bear viewing adventure starts with a scenic drive to Sterling, where you board an Alaska bush plane and fly-in, landing on the shoreline right in front of the camp. During the flight you will pass over towering mountains, active volcanoes and huge glaciers, often spotting bear and moose along the way.
The number of bears seen on each trip differs, with the slight possibility of seeing none -- however the camp's incredible location, great staff and the flight into and out of camp alone are worth the price of admission.
While simply getting to the bear viewing camp is a scenic adventure in itself, if time allows we highly recommend a 2 or 3 day bear viewing trip for the best experience. Alaska bear viewing hot-spots are located in remote locations far from civilization and allowing additional time enables you to spend more time with your guides at the various bear viewing locations and more time to spot and photograph the bears.
