Getting To Seward
Seward, Alaska is 129 miles south of Anchorage. You can reach Seward by road or Backcountry Safaris would be happy to package bus and or Alaska Railroad transportation to and from Seward as well as overnight lodging in Seward with your Small Boat Whale Watching Glacier Cruise.

Steller Sea LionsArrival - If you're driving from Anchorage to Seward the morning of the trip you should allow 3 hours to drive to Seward. If you would like us to include hotel lodging in Seward with your Small Boat Whale Watching Cruise just let us know.

2 Departure Times. Morning Departure: 9:00 AM. Afternoon Departure: 1:30 PM. Trip length is about 4 hours.

Please arrive 1/2 hour early. You'll meet the boat captain on the boardwalk in the Seward Small Boat Harbor, next to the "Coho Joe's" Coffee shop. This is near the top of "B" dock, and behind the "Pro-Fish-N-Sea/Crackerjack" charter office. The Captain will walk up to greet you just prior to departure.

Dress in layers. A stocking cap and gloves are nice to have if you're not used to cooler temperatures. Kenai Fjords National Park is a temperate rain forest and rain gear, pants and jacket are highly recommended if you want to be outside for the best views of the wildlife, whales and the glaciers.
