Kayakers CoveKayakers Cove is a favorite affordable sea kayaking destination with local Alaska sea kayakers and out-of-state adventure travelers. Kayakers Cove is owned by our Seward friends and long time Seward residents Mike and Raylene O’Connor.

Lodging
Kayakers Cove offers an alternative to conventional Seward lodging. Kayakers Cove is a rustic wilderness lodge offering hostel style lodging, located in Resurrection Bay 12 water miles from the town of Seward. Backcountry Safaris can provide water taxi transportation to Kayakers Cove or you can even kayak to Kayakers Cove from Seward.

Lodging at Kayakers Cove is affordable and rustic and offers two private cabins, or shared hostel-style accommodation in the main lodge.

  • Kayakers Cove CabinsThe private cabins include double beds on the main floor, and two additional sleeping areas in the lofts. Kayakers Cove provides bedding on the double beds, but in the loft you’ll need to use your own sleeping bag or rent bedding from Kayakers Cove. Cabin rental includes the use of the kitchen facilities, dishes and utensils, which are available in the main lodge. Or you can bring your own stove and cooking gear.

  • The shared hostel-style accommodation is in the main lodge, in the loft area. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping bag/bedding, or you can rent bedding from Kayakers Cove. This is dorm-style accommodation and includes the use of the kitchen, dishes and utensils.

Non-guided and guided sea kayaking options are available.

  • Waterfall Near Kayakers CoveNon-guided. Bring your food, drinks, clothing, and a sleeping bag. Bedding is available to rent at Kayakers Cove. If you need a sea kayak, Kayakers Cove has sea kayaks to rent or you can rent sea kayaks and dry suits from us.

Alternative Option
Bear Glacier lodging, with sea kayaking near glaciers and icebergs
For a more remote sea kayaking and hostel style lodging experience, including paddling near a glacier and icebergs, Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat would be an affordable alternative.

The perfect cup of coffee in Seward
When in Seward our favorite coffee stop is "Resurrect Art Coffee House" also owned by our friends Mike and Raylene who own Kayakers Cove. Resurrect Art Coffee House features coffee, Italian Sodas, Pastries, unique gift items and an art gallery crafted by local (mainly Seward) artisans.
